Erik is a man, a thief and a rebel, when, after a wild hunt, he escapes from the Baron's henchmen, just because he, of course, by pure chance, carries the jewelery of his wife in a knapsack, into the deep elven forest. He gets a lesson in the forbidden territory immediately, not from the elves, but from orc. An elf, who doesn't kill him, even though it would have been her duty, rescues him instead and nurses him back to health.
