"The Life and Times of Ulric Zwingli" is a biography of the famed leader of the Reformation in Switzerland, born during a time of emerging Swiss patriotism and increasing criticism of the Swiss mercenary system. The book traces his life starting with his youth and pastoral service at in Glarus and later in Einsiedeln, where he was influenced by the writings of Erasmus. The book also captures the events of the Marburg Colloquy where Zwingli and Martin Luther sought to reach an accord on the doctrine of the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, which they didn't.
