It is a treatise on supernatural and mysterious topics, such as dreams, ghosts, fairy mythology, mysterious sounds, lycanthropy, nightmares, succubi and illusions. Going into detail about each, Dendy explores the background and possible explanations for these phenomena, including insights into mythology, prophecies and coincidences, as well as discussing mental causes.
