Beschreibung zu „The Lady In Red“

A page-turning debut written in the tradition of R.L. Stine's Fear Street, Goosebumps or
Haunting Hour.
In the town of Riverville, there is a street.
It was a street where they used to hang witches.
It is a street where students from school are known to have vanished without a trace, even
till today.
It is a street where strange things happen to people.
It is called Fox Street.
But kids at school call it by another name.
The Witch's Street.
One late night, Peter sneaks out of his house and goes to a bar called The Owl, to meet
gorgeous ladies. As it turns out, the bar also happens to be in the Witch's Street. In The Owl,
he meets Elizabeth, an attractive blonde woman in a red dress. Peter thinks he's in love with
Elizabeth, but there is more to her than meets the eye.
Free Chapter:
“Honey, I’m off to bed!!!!” Peter’s mom calling out from her bedroom.
“Ok mom!!!!” Peter responded from the kitchen downstairs. He closed the kitchen
door and was going to make himself a cup of tea.
As the kettle was boiling, he was thinking about the book he had just read.
The book had disturbed him.
And he didn’t want to believe it.
The pendant he wore was pictured on the book.
The antique dealer who gave it to him said that it was for good luck but that it also
warded evil spirits away.
The pendant saved the vampire from draining the life force of the hunter.
He wore that pendant when Elizabeth kissed him.
He didn’t fell asleep.
She was draining him of his life force.
Because she was a vampire.
That was what vampires did. They fed on the life force of other people.
And the pendant that he threw away slowed her down or at least weakened her.
It saved his life.
Inside a house that wasn’t even hers, but one she was just using because she knew
that no one lived there.
And she easily opened the door of that house, because she had supernatural strength.
When the kettle had finished boiling, he made himself a cup of tea.
He couldn’t believe what he was thinking.
It was crazy.
He knew that he couldn’t go to sleep right away and so went into the living room.
He placed his cup down by the table in front of the couch, switched the t.v. on and
then sat down by the couch. He looked at the clock by the cupboard next to the t.v. It was already nearly midnight.
He just waited for the news to come on.
He needed to watch and know what was going on around the world.
To keep his mind off his worrying thoughts.
As Peter was sipping from his cup, he was listening to what the anchorman had to
say.
“........he had been reported missing and never came home...” the anchorman reported.
But as Peter saw the picture of the man on the t.v., his heart was beating.
He dropped his cup on the floor, not fully paying attention to the sound that his
dropping had made.
He saw the picture of the man who was missing.
He recognised who the missing man was.
It was the man from The Owl.
The one who was chatting with Elizabeth.
Oh my God!!!, Peter thought.
He was afraid.
He was afraid for his life.
And then the phone rang. His house had a phone, that was on top of a square table
next to the couch.
He picked up the phone.
He wondered who would be calling his house at this time.
His mom’s boyfriend?
Perhaps a friend of hers?
Or maybe one of his?
“Hello?????”
Silence. But he could hear someone breathing on the other side.
“Hello?????” Peter repeated.
“Peter!!!!! Is that you!!!!!”
Peter recognised the voice.
Elizabeth’s voice.
His heart was beating.
“I know it’s you Peter!!!! I can even hear your heart beating!!!!” Elizabeth said.
He wasn’t sure what to do.
He had to lie.
“Sorry??? Who’s this????” Peter playing dumb.
“Don’t pretend you don’t know who this is!!!! I saw you going to the Town Hall
today!!! You asked for information about house ten sixty-six!!! I also know that you’re just
a high school student!!! I saw you walking out of your friend’s house and you were even
carrying a book with you!!!!” Elizabeth sounded harsh.
“Look??? What do you want???” Peter demanded.
“I know you know the truth about me!!! And you better not tell anyone else about
this conversation or else!!!!” Elizabeth warned.
